Cave Crawler was a project created with the constraint that it be a game that accepts microtransactions in-game using real-world currency. The game is a simple mining game in which the player mines different materials throughout a procedurally-generated cave and can use those resources to upgrade their equipment. Players could spend real-world currency to purchase in-game gold in order to speed up upgrades, as it takes time for research into a new upgrade to complete.
My role for the team was to develop the shopping/upgrade systems. This involved creating: the UI for the shop, the systems that allow the player to upgrade equipment and purchase items, as well as the microtransaction system.
